Spring 2023 Wrap Up

Well we’re halfway through 2023 so it’s time to for a recap. I love doing these, it often makes me feel accomplished. Now if you take a look at my spring vision board you may wonder why as I’ve barely made dent in my intentions. By the numbers I only completed 25% of makes I planned, but that doesn’t bother me.

My boards are just a guide. I give myself grace to veer from it or simply prioritize other interests. Some items may be on the board for years, like the Kalle top on this one, others fall off, some are modified - like Know Me 2013 above. I also know new patterns drop, new fabric inspires and pattern test arise. The later was a big factor this season.

Lets take a look at what I did make from my original spring plans:

Next up are a couple of patterns I didn’t have in my original plans. McCalls 8383 was released in the spring and I instantly wanted to sew up so I did. Then the weekend before Juneteenth I decided I needed a new outfit for the holiday. I didn’t have much time so I went with pretty simple gathered skirt out of this colorful african wax fabric.

I completed four pattern tests this season: First up was the newly released Lora dress from True Bias, which I want to make again. I couldn’t pass on the Sunrise Skort by Jessilous because who doesn’t love a skort?

No you may be thinking “I only see two pics”. Yeah I know. I’ve had the privileged to test a few swim patterns for Edgewater Ave and this season I did test the Amelia bottoms, but I never took styled pics. And lastly I’m sitting on a make that hasn’t been released yet, so stay tuned.

Whelp that’s all my makes since April! Hope you liked the recap. Summer vision board loading!
