Made for Mermaids Paris Palazzo Pants

Pattern:

I had the pleasure of testing The Paris Palazzo Pants and I’m so excited to share them with you. There’s no shortage of patterns for this pull on wide leg pants, so let me share my favorite features about this pair.

  1. These are truly wide and flowy (with a drapey fabric)

  2. Ultra high rise

  3. Optional set-in inseam pockets

  4. Hem length options shorts, cropped, pants (28, 30 &32” inseam)

Additionally there’s an optional gathered, tiered side panels, optional drawstring and all feature a 2” waistband.

I was able to sew these in a jiffy because you have just four pieces for all but the gathered side panel view. This what the first time, I think, that I’ve sewn a pocket like this. It wasn’t difficult, just different I just might add this feature to future projects.

Fabric:

I picked up this blue and white vertical stripe fabric from Fine Fabric in Jonesboro, GA. I spotted it a week prior when I was looking for fabric for my Cowboy Carter Concert outfit. I think it’s a lightweight cotton or a cotton blend. The blue and white stripes gave me a beachy feel which seemed great for these pants. Though it’s very lightweight, the fabric lacks the drapeyness of say a rayon challis or a crepe, but still think it works. One day I’ll make these again in more fluid fabric to see which I prefer.

My orginial plans and the colorblocking I considered.

Modifications:

I cut a 32” inseam had to trim about 2” off the hem

Lessons Learned:

Cut the 30“ inseam
