Girls Joggers Suit - Simplicity 8268

Miss socialite loves joggers. It's just her "thing". Joggers and houndstooth and plaid...she has a new found love for anything plaid! I'm not sure where that came from, but hey I'm a print lover so I'm not mad at her. LOLShe has been begging me for more joggers after I self drafted a pair. She's outgrown those and wants "1000 pair". I told her that was a bit excessive **eye roll**. Anyway I had grabbed Simplcity 8268 during a $0.99 pattern sale so I could finally make her some joggers.These joggers are extremely simple to sew and I love that it comes with adult sizes as well. McCalls 7061 is my go to pattern for my joggers for myself, but I may give the adult pattern a try.I used this quilted floral double knit that I also I used for my bomber coat here, which works with the black rib knit I had. The project sewed up quickly as its just a front, back and bands type of pattern. I sewed a size medium for her but a size large length because she likes the slouch in the legs. I may sew a large next time or better yet a melarge (where I cut between the size M and L) so she has so room to grow into these. That is selfishly so I don't have to sew her any more too soon. Although as simple as these are I may let her sew the legs and crotch on the next pair, which she has already decided will be red and black, and I'll attach the bands and add elastic.For the matching jacket I used the kids Ollie bomber pattern from Sew a Little Seam. This is a great pattern that has great instructions on how to bag line a reversible jacket, it's how I sew all my bombers now.I opted for the lined/reversible view and omitted the welt pockets. I used the same quilted floral double knit and a blue rayon spandex knit for the lining for a pop of color. The black ribbing I used for the collar, cuffs and band is from Joann. I grabbed the reversible zipper from there as well.I intended this jacket to be reversible but the weight difference between the double knit and the spandex didn't quite work out.
