Leopard 2 in 1 Dress/Jumper - Simplicity 1325

I saw this pattern when it first came out in the fall I believe. I looked at it thought it was cute, decided I would never wear it and walked away. Still I kept coming back to it. I finally purchased it during a Hancock 5/$5 Simplicity sale. I had decided by then that I could possible turn it into a sexy deep plunge V neck cocktail type of dress. My plan was to somehow keep the deep V but add a sheer panel for a little modesty. I wasn't quite sure how I was going to do that but for $1 it was worth buying.Fast forward several months when I saw my favorite sewing blogger, MimiG, pattern review post of Simplicity 1325. She had raised the V and used the coordinating tee pattern to create a sheer top to wear underneath provided some modesty but still kept it sexy. Inspired I dug out S1325 from my pattern drawer and got to work. This was going to be a perfect 2-N-1 look to go for my Pattern Review Travel Wardrobe Contest entry!I decided to raise and slightly narrow the V so that the jumper could be worn as a sexy cleavage bearing date night dress and as a more innocent sweet jumper. I think I could have adjusted the V a little more by either raising it to minimize cleavage or by lowering to give full side boob. Still I'm happy with the way it turned out. It is in the top the of my favorites list of things I've sewn.***Voting for the contests starts on March 5, 2015. I cut a 12 *I cut a size smaller since I was using a knit.Difficulty: 1/EasyFabric Used: Leopard scuba ponte knit from Hancock Fabrics (out of stock)Does it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope? Not exactly. The skirt does but the bodice doesn't, but that was intentionalWere the instructions easy to follow? Yes, they were straightforward.Likes: I loved the deep V, the full skirt and the pockets. I also learned that I like side bodice darts on this project.Dislikes: None reallyPattern alterations or any design changes made: I raised and narrowed the neckline so that I could wear the jumper as a dress without layering.Would I sew it again? Yes! I want create my original vision of the plunging neckline with a sheer panel in all black. I’d also intend to attempt to modify the bodice to a scoop neck to make a dress.Would I recommend it to others? Yes.
