All of My Favorite Things: Untitled Thoughts Mathilde

Overview:

This makes has all of my faves: wrap dress, knit, black and white geometric print and pockets!

  • Skill Level*: 2

  • Sewing Time: 4-5 hours, half a day

  • Pattern Rating*: 5

Pattern:

This Untitled Thoughts Mathilde pattern is a TNT for me. I've already made a dress and a top. It comes together quickly, which is always a win. It features in seam pockets, a waistband, hem length and sleeve options. There's even an optional ruffle for a little extra flourish.

This go round I opted for the three quarter sleeves and the knee length skirt. I love it so much for fall that I'm almost sad that I can't wear it to the office....ALMOST. (I really enjoy working from home).

Fabric:

This fabric hits all my go-to's. It's a rayon jersey, black and white and a geometric print. I had to have it! This knit is a four way stretch, 80% selvage to selvages and 40% along the selvage. It's also a rayon blend so it feels amazing. I'd also love it for top, leggings, jumpsuit or even a bodysuit. Grab yourself a few yards, here.

I tried not to make a wrap dress with fabric, I promise I tried. I considered a jumpsuit like M8047 or B6330, but this just screamed WRAP DRESS! This dress is so comfy, it's definitely a secret pajama outfit.

Modifications:

Like the first two times I sewed up the Mathilde, I omitted the neck band opting to do a narrow hem instead. I used a narrow zig zag stitch to ensure the neckline could stretch.

Summary:

Untitled Mathilde Dress is definitely a TNT. It will continue to be in constant rotation.
