Twinning cropped sweatshirts: Chalk & Notch Page

Sweatshirts are a staple wardrobe piece in almost everyone's wardrobe. They are great to wear to the gym, around the house, to run errands and more. They can be worn all year long depending on the weight of the fabric. Add a hood and now you have a hoodie adding more versatility. The options for sweatshirts are almost endless, they can be solid, graphic, colorblocked, oversized, fitted and more.

When I saw Chalk and Notch's call for testers for their newest pattern the Page Hoodie, I quickly applied because who doesn't need a good sweatshirt? The Page hoodie is a cropped sweatshirt has two views, but all the options are interchangeable. Choose from either a band or drawstring hem and short, full or slim sleeves. 

I went with the drawstring waist and the slim sleeve for my Page and I love it. The length is perfect as it's just long enough to work with my high waist-ed jeans. During testing the sleeves were about 2" too short and the hood was on the small side, but no worries as Gabriella addressed those issues before releasing the final pattern.

As you'd probably imagine the hoodie is a breeze to sew, but I did tackle a new skill; installing eyelets. Nothing tricky there, just followed the instructions. This is a great beginner pattern.

This leopard print knit is a terry cloth I've had for a few years from Fabric Mart, that has long been sold out. Still check their site because they constantly receive new fabrics. I've also recently order some french terry from Cali Fabrics and it also sewed up lovely.

During the testing Gabriella decided to also offer a mini page! So of course I volunteered to whip up one of those as well. Miss Socialite loves hers as crop hoodies are definitely on trend. I didn't have enough of the leopard terry cloth for Miss Socialite's version. Thankfully I had some black french terry in my stash, so I gave hers black sleeves for a colorblocked look.

The Mini Page eliminate the drawstrings for safety as it sized for 12M to 12yrs. So the drawstring waist version is replace by an elastic hem and the hood just doesn't cinch. Obviously you can add the drawstrings if you like. The Mini Page also has a third longer hip length, making it a bit more unisex friendly. 

We took a trip to the Glossier pop up here in Atlanta at Ponce City Market and took some really great pics there. Miss Socialite had been begging to go since I told her they were doing the pop up  (yeah, that was my mistake). Anyway she absolutely loved it because she all about skin and face products. She even convinced to buy a couple of things, I swear she's going to do something in sales or marketing.

Pattern Description: The Page is a cropped hooded sweatshirt. There are two hem finishes. View A has a banded hem and View B has a drawstring hem. There are three sleeve styles that are interchangeable for both views.

The Mini Page is a hooded sweatshirt. View A has a banded hem with a cropped length, View B has an elastic hem, and View C has a banded hem with a hip length. There are three sleeve styles that are interchangeable for all views.

Sizing: 0-24 with a A/B and C/D cup options and 12m-12yrs

Pattern alterations or any design changes made: Although the hood size was increased during testing I would still may it larger as we have a lot of hair!
