Animal Print Bodysuit: Simplicity 8789

I finished this bodysuit along with this chartreuse suit last month for my Fabricista post for Fabric Mart. Head to the Fabricista blog to read more and scroll below for more pics and my pattern review.B6523Front2I love bodysuits! Something about knowing my top will stay down and tucked in just excites me. I especially love these blouse-y loose fitting version, like Simplicity 8789. This pattern features a wrap or v-neck front and 4 different sleeve options. I ended up sewing View C.Simplicity Pattern 8789 Misses' Bodysuit BlousesWhen I finished this bodysuit I couldn't decided what to do about the sleeves. You can see below that initially I left the sleeve unhemmed. I later considered adding the cuffs of view D, but the fabric didn't take the interfacing well (I tried to types). In the end I went for the elastic hem of view C, but I don't love the length. So I debating let it out going back to the flared sleeves or re-cutting a longer sleeve with elastic. We'll see that's the beauty of creating your own garments, you can alter your vision. All in all this bodysuit was a pretty easy sew, the instructions are clear and the construction makes sense. Unfortunately the knit I used for the panty portion only had 2 way stretch so it's a little tight. Next time I'll remember to check for 4-way stretch. As well as length the sleeve and add an inch or two to the bodice for more blouse-iness.
