McCalls Pattern Haul

I grabbed up eight McCalls patterns this weekend at Joann. They are $0.99 thru Saturday, August 12th, so you still have time to grab some. Vogue is also on sale for $4.99 thru the 12th. I wasn't too impressed with McCalls early fall line up, save two of the kids patterns. So most of what I grabbed are summer patterns I had just passed up on previously.mcI grabbed M7535 for a customer order, this is my second year creating something for here to wear to an annual event she attends. I'll share more details on this later.M7601 is a pattern I eyed when it came out in the summer but wasn't sure I would sew. I do like this style, but I've been trying to do better about buying patterns that I like but know I may never wear. After waiting several weeks I decided I would wear this shirt (even though it means a strapless bra, which I don't love) and I will try to make it before the summer ends, which in Georgia could be October.I picked up M7313 at the suggestions of Robert'sWife. I thought briefly that I could achieve this same silhouette by using M6886 as a base, cutting it off at the waist and then simply adding a circle skirt, and I could. However for 99 cents I rather not.Initially passed on M7606 even though I have been dying for a bodysuit pattern (and had been putting off buy the Closet Case Nettie Bodysuit) I didn't care for the off the shoulder neckline. But again for 99 cents I think I can modify it enough to get a basic scoop neck bodysuit from it.I actually did want M7593 when it was first released, I just never got around to purchasing it. I love views B and D and could see myself making the other views. It seems like a good quick knit sew.Bomber jackets were all the rage last year, I made a few using M7100 for me and the Ollie Bomber by Sew A Little Seam for Miss Socialite. I purchased M7619 because it went up to size 14 and I thought the Ollie pattern stopped at size 8. However after getting home and checking the Ollie goes up to size 12, so this one will be going back. Yes, even for only $0.99.On a previous trip to Joann Miss Socialite picked out M7424 from the pattern books. That is the dangerous thing about bringing her along, she goes straight for the kids section of the pattern books. Since that was not my mission that day I didn't get it but for I remember to grab it this trip.Miss Socialite is getting back in to tumbling this year, so that means we need plenty of workout gear. M7618 will be great for making bra and legging sets in her teams colors! She is already excited about this and will likely start planning her colorblocking placement soon.

Have you hit up Joann to take advantage of this rare 99 cent sale on McCalls patterns? Which patterns did you choose?
