Black and White Faux Wrap Dress - McCalls 6884

I love this pattern! It sews up quickly and is a good fit. This dress is an oldie but a goodie. I attempted this pattern pretty early in my sewing journey because it came highly recommend and I love a wrap dress. The reveiws were correct this was an simple sew!I used an ITY I bought from a local fabric store. I just love black and white and this abstract grid print grabbed my eye. I chose View B because I was seeking a work friendly dress and was concerned about the coverage of View A. At the time I had not yet tackled sleeves and decided to omit them. Additionally, after reading the many reviews on Pattern Review concerning the placement of the sash I decided not to attach the sash to the side seams. Instead I cut the sash pattern piece on the fold creating a separate sash to wear with the dress.wpid-photogrid_1432131735515.jpgAll in all I love this dress. The only issue I have with this dress is the deep V. I originally cut a 12 for the bodice and took it in to about a 10.  I think if I had cut a 10 to start that would have helped greatly. It's no biggie though I just pin it. The next time I will tack it down.wpid-20150520_104638.jpgPattern Description: Close-fitting, pullover, mock wrap dresses have right front variations, tie ends and narrow hems.
